With Habit Rouge, this is the first time in Western Perfumery that oud wood, a very precious fragrant resin with a warm, woody scent, has been used. Oriental, alternately citrusy, warm and vanilla, it has a genius for contrasts and mastered emotions.
The olfactory composition begins with the citrus tones of bergamot, lemon and mandarin, enhanced by rose pepper. The heart is filled with carnation, cedar wood, patchouli and cinnamon. Finally, the base combines a leather accord composed of a dose of vanilla, benzoin and amber.

THE BRAND
The creation of the first Guerlain perfumery dates back to 1828 and offers specialized perfumes for each customer. After creating make-up products and developing its first eau de toilette, Guerlain received an order in 1853 dedicated to Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III. This is how he created the emblematic Eau de Cologne Impériale, an essence which earned him the patent of “Her Majesty's royal supplier”. Guerlain thus became the supplier of the greatest crowned heads of the planet such as Empress Sissi, Queen Victoria and Queen Isabella of Spain. With nearly 200 years of history and 4 generations of perfumers, it is one of the oldest perfumery brands.
THE HISTORY OF HABIT ROUGE PERFUME
Habit Rouge is one of Maison Guerlain's great olfactory successes. Created in 1965, it is Perfumery's first masculine oriental and sometimes considered the masculine version of the famous Shalimar.
As a tribute to the passion of the Guerlains for the art of training, it creates a surprise from its launch with its sensual and daring vanilla scents. "Habit Rouge", named after the famous jackets worn by riders, is a mixture of scents that come from the earth, heated leather, the forest. It is a high-flying figure, reflecting a mastered, refined, powerful instinct. Habit Rouge embodies a man in love with refinement and capable of all daring. It leads its life with ardor and is distinguished by an extremely sensual sillage.
Among the different variations that have subsequently appeared , we find among others Water, and Dress Code.
HER BOTTLE
Its bottle is modern in its geometry, rigorous in its square shapes, it features sharp and imposing edges, as well as very contemporary lines. He remains a timeless figure of French elegance.
HABIT ROUGE IN ADVERTISING h4>
The advertising poster in 1995 shows the rider and his mount with the famous “red coat” leaping the armchairs in a room of theater. For its L'Eau version, the 2011 commercial features the wild stallion and his rider trying to tame him
