Creating products around a fragrance always represents a real challenge of formulation. You have to retain the signature while transposing it on different media. It's a fascinating exercise to my mind, because each time it requires complete mastery of the fragrance structure in order to translate it into another language. The challenge was that much greater for JOY by DIOR because its structure is so dense. We had to preserve its luminous immediacy and highlight its freshness while adapting the myriad notes to suit the formulas of skincare products.
