In 1925, the Shalimar bottle, designed by Raymond Guerlain, won first prize at the Decorative Arts exhibition in Paris .
Its curves are inspired by the basins of the famous Shalimar Gardens.
The fan-shaped stopper, with sapphire transparency, recalls its eternal water jets.
4 centuries ago, in India, Emperor Shah Jahan fell madly in love with Princess Mumtaz Mahal.
He created the marvelous gardens of Shalimar for her, then dedicates to him the Taj Mahal, one of the new seven wonders of the world.
This incredible tale fired the imagination of Jacques Guerlain, who 1925, created Shalimar, the first oriental perfume in history.
Jacques Guerlain dares to use a brand new gourmet molecule, the ethyl vanillin associated with the Jicky accord.
