The history of the Azzaro brand begins around the young Loris Azzaro, born to Sicilian parents. Living in Tunisia, he was destined for a career in art or architecture.
He left for Toulouse to study literature. Once he obtained his degree, he taught Italian in several Tunisian colleges. In 1962, he decided to settle in Paris with his wife for whom he made costume jewelry. His wife being a model, Loris Azzaro's creations were quickly noticed and orders were pouring in, but he did not open his first accessories business until 3 years later.

In 1967, Azzaro presented 8 outfits during a fashion show at the "Salon du Prêt-à-porter" at the Grand Hôtel de Paris. One of the dresses then appeared on the cover of "Elle" magazine, which was the beginning of fame. He was then asked to dress great celebrities such as Brigitte Bardot, Dalida or even Tina Turner.

After such success, Loris Azzaro decided to venture into the world of perfumery, and in 1978 developed his first men's perfume: Azzaro Homme. Aromatic, with scents of lavender, accompanied by a heart of sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver and a touch of spice, all mixed with amber, leather, white musk and moss Oak. Having become a great classic of the brand, Azzaro Homme is the reference fragrance in men's perfumery.
