Jacomo

The story of the brand is both original and simple. At the end of the 1960s, an American, James Kaplan and a Frenchman, Gérard Courtin, a former pianist, join forces to open a leather boutique on New York's famous 5th Avenue. They call it Jacomo: "Ja" for James, "co" for Courtin and "mo" to give the name a melodious note. Passionate about the arts, Gérard Courtin discovered a passion for perfumery. He is totally dedicated to it and excels at it. He imagines his first perfume, the bottle of which would be inspired by a sculpture from the Museum of Modern Art in New York and whose fragrance would be composed like a musical score, whose languages ​​are very similar. Eau Cendrée, its first creation for men, and its feminine counterpart Chicane, are sold exclusively in the Jacomo boutique in New York. The very cosmopolitan New York clientele demands them and even seeks them outside the United States.
